INIT Berlin Office Mural

A large-scale paste-up mural created for INIT’s Berlin office, bringing music culture into a contemporary workspace.

INIT’s Berlin headquarters is a carefully designed creative environment, shaped by contributions from a range of internationally recognised artists. We were invited to be part of that programme, creating a mural within the space.

The project became one of our earliest installations, marking an important step in how we translated our street-based work into interior architectural settings.

The mural was created using imagery from rock'n'roll photographer Andy Willsher’s archive, bringing a raw authenticity and cultural depth to the space. Each portrait draws from a defining moment in music history, reinterpreted in our style.

Process

Early large-scale paste-ups

This project marked one of the first major uses of our paste-up technique at scale.

Working directly with photographic material from Andy Willsher’s archive allowed us to retain a strong documentary feel while reinterpreting the images through our own visual language.

Context

The project coincided with a visit to Berlin for an exhibition at Kulturspäti, making it part of a wider moment for us as artists — expanding our work internationally while beginning to explore larger, more permanent formats.
