Futures Past and Present
A large-scale mural created in Doncaster as part of Futures Past and Present, a public art project curated by Art of Protest Projects.

The programme brought together artists to explore themes of heritage, identity and the future of place through public artworks across the town.
Our approach focused on artists painting artists — a tribute to some of the figures who have shaped visual culture.

The mural brought together a series of cultural icons we admire, including David Hockney, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol and Richard Hamilton, better known as Shadowman.
The piece explored influence and legacy — artists interpreting artists — and how creative identity carries forward across generations.

Being part of a wider curated programme allowed the work to sit within a broader conversation about place, culture and identity.
