We're thrilled to share the exciting news that we've joined forces with our friends at the LG Cafe in Arundel, West Sussex, on a remarkable transformation. Together, we’ve turned their cafe into a unique haven that fuses the essence of Royal Britain with the rebellious spirit of Punk.
Inspired by legendary bands like The Clash, Sex Pistols, and The Cure, the LG Cafe is embarking on an audacious journey. Arundel, known for its traditional and conservative ambiance, might not be the first place you'd associate with the punk scene, but that's precisely what makes this venture so daring.
The outcome of this creative collaboration has left us proud, and we're eager for you to come and experience it for yourself. When you visit, be sure to mention that The Postman sent you – Lily and George, the cafe's lovely hosts, will make your visit extra special.
A huge shoutout goes to the legendary Rock’N’Roll photographers who’s imagery inspired some of our artworks that now adorn the cafe's walls:
- Andy Willsher's striking portrait of Amy Winehouse
- Dave Hogan's captivating shots of George Michael and Johnny Rotten
- Adrian Boot's iconic image of Sid Vicious
- Tim Roney's evocative portrayal of Robert Smith
And that's not all – you'll also encounter tributes to the legendary David Bowie and the iconic Vivienne Westwood within the cafe's welcoming walls.
While the cakes and coffees at the LG Cafe are nothing short of amazing, what truly sets this place apart is the all-encompassing experience it offers. We encourage you to pay a visit and witness the magic for yourself. You’ll love the LG Cafe – a perfect blend of British heritage and punk spirit. Enjoy every moment!

Creating our 5th anniversary show ‘Urban Rebels’ has been an exhilarating experience for us. Stepping into the gallery on the opening night, surrounded by our artworks and an eagerly awaiting atmosphere, evoked a mix of vulnerability and excitement.
Each project we've undertaken, every moment of uncertainty, and every surge of inspiration has led us to this pivotal moment. Our primary intention with this exhibition was to celebrate the remarkable journey of The Postman. We curated a show reel that chronicles our story which was screened in the cinema downstairs. If you didn’t make it to the show you can watch it HERE.
As we observed the bustling turnout from our vantage point upstairs, we were transported back to the memorable night when we first unveiled our artworks on the streets of Brighton.
For us, The Postman was never just about art. It’s about the relation between people and their pop culture heroes. It's about forging connections and engaging the hearts and minds of those who interact with our work.
The ambiance of the exhibition, the amount of love in the room and the sheer joy on people’s faces will forever be etched in our memories. ’Urban ‘Rebels’ will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was undoubtedly a high point in our artistic career. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all of you who made it extraordinary.
We sincerely hope you enjoyed the event and thank you for your invaluable time and support for our creative pursuits.
You can view a selection of images taken by our photographers Tina Knowles and Nick Pope HERE. As we look ahead, we anticipate many more exciting adventures on the horizon.

We recently visited Sunderland to join forces with Art of Protest Projects and launch FUTURE WALLS, an exciting new street art project in Sunniside supported by Sunderland Bid. We had three main task - to create an interactive street art trail featuring 24 hidden classic movie on small hidden spray cans, to showcase six street art pieces representing musicians with connections to Sunderland's history and memorable performances at the Stadium of Light, and to paint a giant mural inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.
The spray can trail in Sunniside was specifically designed to encourage people of all ages to take a stroll through the area and embark on a quest to discover all 24 movie characters hidden within the street art. Our aim is to inspire both the young and the old, igniting a sense of adventure.
To make the experience even more engaging, Art of Protest Projects are creating an interactive map that will pinpoint the locations of all the hidden movie characters.
Here is a MAKING OFF VIDEO
Our collection of street art pieces showcases an array of influential musicians, each with their own unique story. First, we pay tribute to the legendary Tina Turner, whose recent passing left a profound void in the music industry.
Next, we feature the incomparable Elton John, who recently delivered a mesmerising performance at Glastonbury, marking a momentous occasion in his illustrious career. Elton has also graced the stage at Sunderland's Stadium of Light, and we celebrate his artistry through a stunning collaboration with renowned photographer Dave Hogan.
Representing the spirit of the North, we feature Noel Gallagher, an iconic figure who, alongside his band Oasis, has enchanted audiences in Sunderland.
Continuing our journey, we introduce two brand new artworks: one dedicated to the vibrant artist PINK, crafted in collaboration with photographer Scott Schafer, and another honouring the incomparable Beyoncé, brought to life through the lens of Ray Burmiston.
Finally, we unveil the legendary Bob Marley. While previously showcased in our LA exhibition, this artwork makes its European debut, allowing audiences to immerse themselves in Marley's timeless spirit.
For the mural we employed artificial intelligence (AI) to assist in generating artwork of the iconic characters - the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, and the White Rabbit. By incorporating AI, we aim to initiate discussions about its practical applications as well as the ethical considerations associated with this emerging technology. More about this coming soon.
We hope that some of you will get a chance to visit Sunniside and witness the artwork firsthand.
Enjoy the experience!
]]>Brighton is now home to the exceptional recording studio, Salvation, and we had the honour of leaving our mark within its walls. Our latest creation pays homage to the legendary Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead.
This project has been a labor of love, and we collaborated closely with our dear friend and talented photographer, Mick Hutson. Tragically, Mick passed away before he could witness the completion of the mural.
In heartfelt tribute, we dedicate this piece to the memory of Mick Hutson. His absence is deeply felt, and we cherish the memories of the wonderful times we shared together. Mick, we miss you dearly.
As Lemmy's iconic figure takes form on the walls of Salvation, may it serve as a lasting testament to the indomitable spirit of rock and roll, and as a reminder of the creative bond we shared with Mick. May his legacy live on through his incredible work and the joy it brings to all who behold it.

We are thrilled to announce our exciting partnership with LUMAS. Now, a carefully curated selection of artworks can be found in 21 LUMAS galleries worldwide, spanning vibrant cities such as Berlin, London, Miami, New York, Paris, and Zurich.
This extraordinary venture came to fruition when LUMAS approached us with a visionary concept: crafting a Postman Stamp Collection on acrylic glass with cut-out edges. Although unfamiliar with this particular style and medium, we embarked on this journey and are immensely satisfied with the outcome.
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of visiting LUMAS' exquisite gallery in Covent Garden, London, for a promotional photoshoot and to witness the works firsthand. We couldn't be prouder of how they turned out.
Each of the six artworks in this collection is available in three different sizes and limited editions of 150. We encourage you to visit LUMAS' website, explore the collection, and share your thoughts.

Time flies, and it feels like just yesterday we mourned the Queen's passing and celebrated her Jubilee. Now, we rejoice in the King's coronation, marked by a remarkable mural at Brighton's House of Hair. Regardless of personal opinions about the Royals, extra bank holidays in the UK are always met with delight.
As we celebrate the new King's coronation, let's appreciate this historic moment. May these days be filled with happiness, celebration, and treasured memories for all.

In January 2023, we had the incredible honour of being invited by Cedella Marley to contribute two new murals for the 3rd instalment of the travelling Bob Marley - One Love Experience, held at Ovation Hollywood. This marked our second collaboration with the Bob Marley foundation, following our first mural created in January 2022 at London's renowned Saatchi Gallery. The original mural had been transported from London to LA, making a brief stop in Toronto for the exhibition's second instalment.
The entire journey to Los Angeles was an absolute blast, and it stands as one of the most memorable experiences in our career thus far. Being able to contribute to the Bob Marley - One Love Experience was a true honour and an opportunity we will forever cherish. The vibrant and inspiring atmosphere, coupled with the celebration of Bob Marley's legacy, made the entire event truly special.
Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate the possibility of participating in the fourth instalment of the Bob Marley - One Love Experience. The opportunity to continue creating artwork that pays tribute to the iconic musician and promotes his messages of love, unity, and social justice would be a dream come true for us. We are grateful to Cedella Marley and the Bob Marley foundation for allowing us to be part of this incredible project and look forward to future collaborations.

During our visit to LA in January 2023, we had the incredible opportunity to create a large mural at LA's newest SWING STREET Gallery located at 433 S. Spring St., L.A. Gallery Row, DTLA. Our mural featured Basquiat, Haring, and Warhol, three artists who greatly influenced our own artistic journey. The artwork we created was a part of an upcoming group show at the gallery.
SWING STREET Gallery is led by Guerin Swing, an artist known as 'Mr. LA.' We express our gratitude to Guerin for extending the invitation to us and providing us with this amazing experience. If you'd like to see more about the gallery, you can check out their Instagram page at https://www.instagram.com/swingstreetgallery/. You can also find Guerin Swing on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/mr.la.art/. It was truly an honour to be a part of this collaboration, and we cherish the memories of this opportunity.

Drawing inspiration from LA's vibrant street art scene, we crafted an installation on one of his bedroom’s doors.
Upon completing the installation, we were filled with a sense of pride and humility as we observed its seamless integration with the existing masterpieces. It was a truly remarkable experience to have our work showcased alongside the art world's legends.
Contributing to Navarro's collection allowed us to connect with a celebrated musician and artist, providing a platform to share our creativity with a wider audience. His chosen subject for the artwork was actress Brittany Murphy, adding a unique and personal touch to the installation.

]]>Our year's off to a good start. We saw a break in the clouds and took the opportunity to update our mural at Brighton's Guitar Amp & Keyboard store (GAK).
This year's lineup of icons is super special with new artworks of Amy Winehouse, Bob Marley, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix.
Photographer Mark Mawston took the image of Amy, which is also available as an exclusive print at Rock Archive.
Our Hendrix artwork is based on an image by Donald Silverstein (R.I.P.). It's one of the two most iconic images of Jimi and getting an art license for an image like that is very rare. All thanks go to Matt Humphreys who is working with Donald Silverstein's family to create a huge NFT project. More to come later this year.
The mural also includes artworks of our all-time favourites Bowie and Prince (image credit - Dave 'Hogie' Hogan), Bob Marley, Debbie Harry and Kate Bush (image credit - Adrian Boot) and Kurt Cobain (image credit - Martyn Goodacre).
The wall at GAK is our longest standing spot in Brighton. It's also our biggest mural to date, especially this year's as we took over the whole wall.
Working alongside us we've had our friend BROKEN-HARTIST adding awesome playing cards with legendary quotes to each musician. Look closer! ...and be sure to check out her work, she rocks!

]]>Artistic duo The Postman have been pasting their colourful portraits of cultural icons around Brighton and beyond since 2018.
The masked pair say they choose to keep their identities under wraps as they would "rather let the art do the talking".
Their latest work has celebrated the late Queen Elizabeth II, who they describe as “the ultimate icon”.
A BBC documentary by: Tim Everest
Music - 'Love you better' by LOYAL
It’s always nice to collaborate with local business, such as Brighton’s awesome Whiskey bar - Cut Your Wolf Loose.
We have launched a ltd. edition Whiskey bottle… it’s pretty tasty.
The first 23 bottles come signed and include a limited A3 sized print of the label artwork.
We have also done a massive mural in the bar’s back garden that’s worth checking out if you’re in town. It’ll be up till January 2023.
We've been invited by Brighton's Discover Magazine to be on the cover of their September issue, along with an interview:
Artist duo THE POSTMAN formed in Brighton in 2018. Music, film and urban culture permeate their works which can be found on the streets all around the world. They’re temporary pieces are not owned by anybody which adds to the allure with The Postman’s fans who enthusiastically seek them out before they disappear.
What motivated you to get started and what are you trying to achieve?
Our passion for street art and the idea to spread love got us started. We aim to offer art that is free for people to enjoy in public. We want to surprise people and provoke a nostalgic, positive reaction through clever placement where you least expect it. We use bright colours and instantly recognisable images. Our work is purposefully non-discriminatory and inclusive in nature.
Are your works on the street illegal?
This is a grey area. We believe that we contribute positively to the urban canvas. We don’t set out to cause damage to property or to upset anyone - quite the opposite. We therefore choose our spots carefully and use rundown areas or urban furniture to paste up our pieces. While pleasing to the majority of people, some may still put our work on a par with vandalism. I feel we need to educate people to challenge their perceptions around what defines art and to encourage understanding of the positive impact street art can have on people’s lives.
How has your work developed in the past years?
What started as a bit of fun escalated quickly in the beginning. Due to frequent travels, our work spread rapidly around the world. We then had a lucky break with a collaboration with one of the world’s most renowned photographers, David La Chapelle, when he took a chance on us back in 2019. We have since been lucky enough to work with numerous incredible photographers. Most importantly Dave Hogan who has a catalogue of imagery spanning 40 years. On a practical side we are continually evolving and learning new techniques, new ways of working with spray paint, stencils and collage, as well as various digital media, new materials and technologies. Another dream came true when we started to work with popular musicians directly, including The Bob Marley family and Noel Gallagher.
Do you only make art of iconic people (‘celebrities’)?
We don’t really embrace celeb culture. Initially our aim was to celebrate our heroes, for example David Bowie. We have since started to diversify our subjects. An example for this is our urban arts project in York in 2021 titled ‘Guardians of York’. We Listened to the stories of 10 local heroes who kept us all safe during the pandemic. We photographed them and made large artworks which we pasted up all over the city of York. This is a good example of how street art that’s available to all can lift spirits and spread positivity at a community level.
Why do you wear masks?
We are private individuals and feel that our art should speak for itself. It also adds to the mystery. Our masks have nothing to do with the group ‘Anonymous’ and we are currently in the process of working on something more unique to The Postman.
What does the future hold?
It’s all to do with the people we meet and the new connections we make along the way. When we saw our work at Saatchi Gallery earlier this year - after being commissioned by Bob Marley’s daughter Cedella - we knew this was the direction we wanted to follow. We love working directly with artists and this seems to be the way things are heading for us. Collaboration is an important value for us. Our work has also started to increase in size and working on large scale murals has become an exciting part of 2022.

Our Seagull named Steven has found a permanent home on the outside of Brighton's Venue Komedia/ and Duke's Cinema.
He's on Regent Street (also on our online map) if you'd like to check him.
We nearly dropped our spray cans last year when Noel Gallagher personally emailed us saying he loves our artwork "proper punk rock" and especially the artwork we made of him.
He later gave us a shoutout on the famous ROCKONTEURS podcast hosted by Gary Kemp (Spandau Ballet) and Guy Pratt (Pink Floyd) and said he wants to work with us on something. Boom!
Fast forward a year and a half and there we are installing a massive mural on the outside of his North London Studio that even The Sun newspaper is interested in :)
It was great to see his selection of heroes - Bob Dylan, Andy Weatherall, John Lennon, David Bowie, Johnny Rotten and Tony Wilson.
We’d love to thank Dave Hogan for our ongoing collaboration and for documenting the install process.
A big thank you also to rock photographers Kevin Cummins (Tony Wilson) and Nick Pickles (Andy W.) for collabing with us.
Hats off Mr G.! Lets work on something cool soon x
It was also great to meet Noel's daughter Anais who documented the installation process.
We often get asked about how our prints should be framed - the answer, of course is: you can frame one of our prints however you like! Having said that though... we do have our preferences we'll share with you here...
In our humble opinion, top mounts are a thing of the past, extra wide ones especially are unnecessary. Thats why we add white borders to our prints.
We can recommend two options, an economy one and a fancy one.
Economy - The majority of our prints are made in A-sizes (A3, A2, A1...) - you can get ready-made frames for those. The criteria to look out for is real glass (not clear perspex) and a nice boxy shape.
Fancy - Get your framer to dry mount the print on a spacer so it floats in a chunky box frame - a bit like an artefact. Add a skinny black mount underneath to highlight the floating gap. Have the framer put in another spacer so the glass doesn't touch the print - better to preserve our hand finishing. There is such a thing as a UV protective/ non- glare Art Glass option, if you want to go all the way.
Colour - for us only Black or White - but again, it's down to your taste.
For ready-made frames we can recommend the Nielsen Apollo White or Black. The most reliable stockist is Best4Frames. These are reasonably priced, have real glass and nice chunky solid wood. You can even mount the print yourself - done. The one downside, the glass sits directly on the print - but that's not the end of the world.
For fancy frames in Brighton and Hove area we recommend Thomas Rainsford and Frame of Mind. We've worked with both for years now and if you say we sent you you'll not only get a discount, they'll also know exactly what to do.
Please note - we are NOT on commission for any of the sources we recommended.
We hope this helps!

AMY WINEHOUSE - Print Launch
You may have already noticed we have a bit of a theme going on here... 2022 is all about The Postman Stamp Collection!
Following The Queen, Daft Punk Unmasked and Andy Warhol, we are proud to add a 4th artwork to our Stamp Collection repertoire - the beautiful Amy.
Did you know that Amy was our first ever print? Back in 2018 we showed the artwork alongside a set of two Daft Punks prints at a London show. This marked the beginning of Postman artworks available for your homes.
The troubled 'Camden Queen' with her deep soulful voice has always been a favourite of ours. Imagine if she was still around today! It's fair to assume that there would be at least a few more iconic albums by now... and no doubt some scandalous stories.
The image that inspired this artwork was taken by our much admired star photographer Dave 'Hogie' Hogan at the Brit Awards in 2007. This was the year when Blake was arrested and Amy had to cancel her US tour due to exhaustion.
As always we're letting our mailing list know first - so you're hearing about the print launch before anyone else and you can exclusively pre-order the print before it's official release on the 17th May.
If Amy is your love, grab one now!
Morcheeba has been part of our lives since the mid 90s. If you haven't heard of them you got to check them out! Music to turn to for comfort and good vibes.
For their recent gig in Brighton at Chalk (11th May 22) we planned a special surprise for their incredible leda singer SKYE. A thank you for their music.
The other half of Morcheeba, Ross Godfrey was in on the surprise...
Hopefully there will be a street piece soon - keep your eyes peeled!

Posh Birds - our Mural at Rockwater, Hove
When we were asked to do a mural at Rockwater in Hove we knew we had to do something slightly different to suit its surrounding. We came up with the idea of 'Posh Birds'.
We set up a photoshoot and created two colourful pieces completely from scratch...
It involved a lot of glitter :)

We have finally found a host for our tribute mural to THE PERV. Many thanks to the crew at Hotel Selina for offering this very apt spot!
Here is what Brighton's LATEST news outlet had to say
Anyone involved in clubbing or gigs in Brighton over the past 40 years will have met Derrick Furnival, who sadly died in September last year. Friends and family have been able to pay tribute to him in the form of a memorial mural outside the Hotel Selina on Kings Road. A crowdfunding page set up by Mr Furnival’s friend, Steve Moore, raised more than £2,500 for it, allowing friends to hire the help of Brighton based art collective, The Postman, to create the piece.

We really related to that because that’s what we’re trying to do in our own way. But where Warhol was working in a single location with a small team, we have the help of all of you, everywhere. By engaging with The Postman pieces out there in the world, taking photos and sharing them on instagram… together we’re taking part in Warhol’s ‘Grand Project’… and we think that’s pretty wonderful.
So here’s to Andy, one of our favourite cultural icons. And in the week that his portrait of Marilyn is set to become the most expensive 20th century art piece ever sold at auction, we have something special (and way, way more affordable) for you. Get it now while it’s enjoying its 15 minutes of fame!

In order to keep it gender neutral and non specific, we decided to add the club's spirit animal. You won't find a better Brighton icon than a seagull !!
